What is crokinole?

Crokinole is a tabletop flicking game for two or four players, played on a round wooden board about 26 inches (660 mm) across. Players flick small discs toward a 20-point hole in the centre and score by where the discs stop. It originated in Ontario, Canada, in the 19th century.

How is crokinole scored?

A disc in the centre hole scores 20, the inner ring scores 15, the middle ring outside the pegs scores 10 and the outer ring scores 5. A disc touching a line scores the lower value. Discs in the ditch score nothing. In tournament scoring the higher round total wins 2 match points and a tie gives each side 1.

What is the must-hit rule in crokinole?

If any opponent disc is on the board, your shot must touch at least one opponent disc, directly or through one of your own discs. Otherwise it is a foul and your disc is removed. In tournament rules every disc it struck is removed too.

What is the no-hiding rule?

If no opponent disc is on the board, your disc or a disc it strikes must finish touching or within the 15 line, so you cannot hide behind the pegs. A disc in the 20 hole counts. Crokinole Club enforces this in its four-round Match and Tournament challenges, not in casual duels.

Can I play crokinole online for free?

Yes. Crokinole Club runs in any modern web browser at https://crokinole.pages.dev/ with no download, no ads and no account. You can play a solo career, pass the device to a friend, or play online in a friend room (1v1 or 2v2) or with Find Opponent.

Does Crokinole Club work offline?

Yes. After the first visit the game installs as a web app and the career, Quick Play and Pass & Play work without a connection. Online play needs the internet.

Is there a crokinole app I can install?

Crokinole Club is a web app, so there is nothing to download from a store. Open the site and use your browser menu to add it to your home screen or install it; it then opens like an app and works offline.

Can I play crokinole online with a friend?

Yes. Create an online room for a 1v1 or 2v2 game and share the room code or invite link. Your friend opens the link in their browser and joins. Nobody needs an account.

What is Find Opponent?

Find Opponent is online matchmaking in Crokinole Club. You join a public waiting line and are paired with another player for a casual, unranked game. If nobody is found after about 30 seconds you can leave the line and play a computer rival instead.

How big is a crokinole board and how many discs are used?

A regulation crokinole board has a 26 inch (660 mm) playing surface. Tournament singles use 12 discs per player. Crokinole Club defaults to a 600 mm board and uses 8 discs per player per round in head-to-head games and 6 per player in 2v2.

What happens when a disc touches a line?

A disc touching a scoring line scores the lower value of the two regions. A disc touching the outer line is out of play and scores nothing.

Why do some boards score the centre 15?

Some casual boards and printed rule sheets use a house scheme, for example a centre worth 15 with no hole. Tournament boards and the NCA rules use a 20 hole with 15, 10 and 5 rings, and Crokinole Club follows that system.

Does Crokinole Club cost anything or need an account?

No. It is free, shows no ads and every mode works as a guest. Signing in with Google is optional and only backs up and syncs your career progress between devices.

How does the Crokinole Club career work?

The career has 15 levels in five chapters, each against a computer rival, on one table with two rounds per match. Each level has up to three stars. After level 15, Season 2 unlocks eight harder opt-in challenges.

Is Crokinole Club affiliated with the National Crokinole Association?

No. Crokinole Club is an independent project. Its rules page paraphrases NCA tournament rules and links to them, but it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NCA or the World Crokinole Championship.
